LG Electronics has launched a practical training programme for young people preparing for employment and has begun recruiting participants. LG Electronics said on June 29 it has opened “Let’s Grow with LG Electronics” as part of the youth job training programme “K-New Deal Academy” promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and has started recruiting the first cohort.
The programme consists of three tracks: smart factory, AI transformation (AX) and digital marketing. The smart factory track focuses on training in manufacturing processes and automation systems, equipment operation and use of production data. The AX track offers hands-on experience of LG Electronics’ work processes, from defining problems based on data to applying AI. The digital marketing track consists of practical training in content planning, social media operation, online advertising execution and performance analysis.
To improve access to training for young people in regional areas, it will be operated in non-capital regions such as Busan, Daegu and Daejeon. Young job seekers aged 15 to 34 are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted from June 26 to July 13, and final participants will be selected after document screening and interviews.
Those selected will receive 11 weeks of training starting in August. They will commute to training centres in each region and also take part in a residential course at the LG Electronics Learning Center inside LG Digital Park in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. The programme is free of charge, and it also provides support for practical projects, job-preparation programmes and portfolio writing. A second cohort is scheduled to begin training in November.
An LG Electronics official said the company is focusing on providing project experience linked to real workplace operations so that young people can respond to a rapidly changing industrial environment. The official added it will help practical talent who will lead future industries to grow.
