Anthropic is preparing to support mobile environments for Claude Cowork, its desktop-centric agentic mode, BleepingComputer reported on June 25.

The related feature was spotted in screenshots posted on social media platform X.

Claude Cowork is a desktop-focused agentic mode that extends Claude Code’s task execution capabilities to general knowledge work. While Claude Code is optimised for coding and development, Cowork supports long-running tasks, file handling, writing documents, spreadsheets and reports, and background work.

According to the screenshots, Claude Cowork lets users start and coordinate work directly on mobile. It can be checked on a smartphone, in a browser and in the Claude desktop app.

It also has a feature that keeps work running in the background even when the app is closed.

But the mobile version is not expected to have the same functions as the desktop app. The screenshots show Cowork Mobile is closer to a remote control for managing Cowork running on a PC. The work is still done on a computer, while the smartphone is used to check progress and coordinate tasks.

Anthropic has not yet officially announced support for Cowork on mobile.
