LG Display is launching job training to help unemployed young people improve their competitiveness in the job market. LG Display said on Wednesday it will take part in the 'K-New Deal Academy' project promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, open a youth education program called 'Let's Grow with LG Display' and recruit trainees.
The program targets job seekers aged 34 and under. It will select 100 people, and applications will be accepted until July 16 via the LG Display Newsroom (news.lgdisplay.com). Training will run for about 3 months starting in August. It is designed so that people without a background in display or AI can start from the basics, and qualifications such as credentials or career gaps do not affect eligibility.
The curriculum is divided into a basic competency course to help with career planning and a professional competency course that teaches AI application skills and practical display knowledge. It also offers job mentoring by current employees, one-on-one consulting for personal statements and practical mock interviews. Instructors include senior-level researchers with more than 10 years of experience in the display sector and experts with relevant certifications.
Selected trainees will receive a monthly youth allowance of 300,000 won during the training period. Graduates are to receive an official certificate of completion and an electronic product that uses an LG Display panel.
An LG Display official said, "Even directly experiencing practical trends such as AI use within LG Display's infrastructure will serve as a strong stepping stone for job searches that felt daunting," and added, "We will be a mentor young people can trust as they strengthen practical capabilities and enter society."
