Smilegate is starting pre-registrations for a new collectible role-playing game being made by developer Control9, stepping up efforts to target the global subculture market.
Smilegate said on Tuesday it has opened a pre-registration page for its new title, "Miraesi: The Unseen Future" (Miraesi). The pre-registration campaign was set up to mark its participation in Anime Expo 2026, North America's largest subculture festival.
Miraesi is a new title from Control9, which was founded by key developers from "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" and "Seven Knights 2". It is planned for release as a cross-platform title on PC and mobile. Illustrator Kim Hyeong-seop (김형섭), who has participated in developing multiple subculture games including "Goddess of Victory: Nikke", serves as art director.
The game is set in a world where time and space intersect. It follows the protagonist, "Uiwon", who teams up with characters including Ende, Tieria and Itsuka to save an era facing the threat of ruin.
The combat system also reflects the time-and-space theme. It adopts a position-based, real-time turn-based format that uses character placement and movement as core strategic elements to differentiate it from existing games.
Han Jae-young (한재영), Smilegate executive director and head of the Miraesi business, said, "To use our participation in Anime Expo as an opportunity to introduce Miraesi to global users and create a chance to communicate more closely, we opened a pre-registration page." He added, "We plan to sequentially release news about Miraesi through various channels going forward."
The official release schedule for Miraesi has not been decided, and detailed service plans will be disclosed sequentially at a later date.
