IBK Industrial Bank of Korea is linking AI agents planned directly by employees to workplace innovation.
The bank said it held an “AI Day” event to select outstanding cases among AI agents that staff planned and implemented.
AI Day was held as the final event of “IBK AI Boom-up Festa,” a companywide AI innovation programme open to all employees.
In the AI agent competition, participants planned AI agents around tasks related to real SME support work, including document checks for foreign remittances, identifying targets for productive finance support and data-based credit screening.
The bank plans to use the event to spread a culture in which frontline employees directly identify problems in SME finance and improve efficiency using AI agents.
It aims to make AI a work innovation tool for all employees, rather than a technology used only by some specialists.
A bank official said the bank plans to review whether top AI agents can be applied to actual work and pursue follow-up upgrades after considering security, data and system integration. The official added it will work to build an AI ecosystem so AI can naturally permeate the overall way people work.
