The Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) said on Wednesday it signed an agreement on June 17 with the Army Force Support System Project Group on cooperation for standardisation and testing certification for defence artificial intelligence transformation (AX).

Under the agreement, the two organisations will help the successful military adoption of advanced new-technology projects such as manned-unmanned teaming systems (MUM-T) and scientific and synthetic training ranges, and build a civil-military cooperation ecosystem. TTA and the project group will pursue cooperation on standardisation in defence and ICT, cooperation on testing and evaluation and certification, and mutual exchanges of information and experts.

Son Seung-hyun (손승현), chairman of TTA, said TTA’s professional capabilities would serve as a powerful catalyst leading the AX transformation of the force support system. He said he hoped it would maximise the military’s future combat power and lead to stronger competitiveness for K-defence.
