Salesforce said on June 15 it will acquire AI customer agent startup Fin for $3.6 billion.
Founded in 2011, Fin started as customer support software and changed its business direction in 2023 by launching an AI agent, also called Fin, that automatically responds to customer inquiries. Fin CEO Eoghan McCabe (에오간 맥케이브) has said annual recurring revenue exceeded $400 million in March and that annual recurring revenue from the AI agent Fin grew 350 percent from a year earlier to nearly $100 million.
Salesforce plans to accelerate AI adoption by its enterprise customers through the acquisition and strengthen its agentic AI platform, Agentforce. Salesforce CEO Mark Benioff (마크 베니오프) said Fin has proven agent technology and a strong AI team, and can help complement Agentforce with service agent capabilities.
