[DigitalToday reporter Lee Ji-young] KB Kookmin Bank is temporarily adjusting credit loan limits in response to rising household lending. It aims to manage household debt more steadily by lowering limits on general credit loans and overdraft accounts.
KB Kookmin Bank said on June 12 it will implement the credit loan limit adjustment plan from June 16.
The maximum limit for general credit loans will be set at 100 million won. The maximum limit for automatic overdraft loans will be capped at 50 million won.
Some products, such as inclusive finance products and policy loans, may be subject to separate standards.
A KB Kookmin Bank official said the plan was prepared by balancing two principles: stable management of household debt and funding supply focused on end users. The official said support for a sound loan portfolio and for financially vulnerable groups will not be disrupted.
