Mobility platform Whistle, which provides alerts on parking and stopping enforcement, has expanded its service area to Geoje in South Gyeongsang Province. Whistle said on June 1 it opened its parking and stopping enforcement alert service in Geoje.

Whistle is a service that allows users to receive parking and stopping enforcement alerts from partner local governments nationwide after registering vehicle information once. If a vehicle is parked within a CCTV enforcement zone, it sends a real-time alert to the driver to prompt the vehicle to be moved. It is designed to reduce unintended fines.

Geoje is a maritime tourism city with a population of about 230,000 and 115,000 registered vehicles. It has attractions such as Haegeumgang, Oedo Botania, Windy Hill and Hakdong Mongdol Beach, and its cumulative tourist numbers over the past three years reached about 21.28 million. Annual visitors are around 7 million.

In summer, the inflow of vehicles from outside areas increases, and demand for parking and stopping also rises near tourist sites and coastal roads. The company said there are also cases where drivers fail to check enforcement zones due to unfamiliar traffic conditions in the area.

A Whistle official said, "Ahead of the peak summer vacation season, we will help travelers visiting Geoje move around with greater peace of mind, and we will continue to expand our region-based mobility services."
