Smilegate has teamed up with local publisher Tencent to begin full-scale service in China for subculture title 'Chaos Zero Nightmare'.

Smilegate said on Wednesday that dark fantasy roguelike RPG 'Chaos Zero Nightmare', developed by Super Creative, has entered official service in China.

The China service officially opened at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and topped the free download rankings on China’s Apple App Store at launch. Tencent will handle service in China.

To mark the official launch in China, Smilegate will pre-release a new combatant, 'Fei', to local users and run events. Fei is set to be officially introduced in Korea and global regions in the summer season.

Earlier, Smilegate and Tencent conducted a closed beta test in China in March and have been gathering user feedback. More than 5.5 million users joined pre-registration through just before the official launch. The two companies plan to continue close cooperation to establish the game in the China market.

'Chaos Zero Nightmare' began service in 174 countries worldwide on Oct. 22 last year and surpassed 1.11 million daily active users within a month of launch. In February, it was selected as the 2025 'Best New Subculture Game' at the 'Sensor Tower Asia Pacific (APAC) Awards.'

Baek Young-hoon (백영훈), Smilegate’s chief business officer, said, "With Tencent, which has proven publishing capabilities, we will do our best for the game’s success in China based on the trust and collaboration know-how built through a long partnership."
