AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud said on May 28 it has been selected again as the operator of the 2026 AI Champion competition.
Co-hosted by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) and the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA), the 2026 AI Champion competition is one of the main tracks of the 2026 nationwide AI contest hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The AI competition selects and awards teams that develop AI services and systems, targeting participants with experience using generative AI and development capabilities. The event is run as the expert- and developer-focused AI Champion competition and the university student developer-focused AI Rookie competition.
After registration and preliminary screening, 100 teams in each competition are selected to advance to the finals. They carry out final-round tasks through technical workshops and research infrastructure support. Final rankings are then decided through the finals evaluation, a first final round (demonstration evaluation) and the final round.
MegazoneCloud will run overall computing infrastructure needed for the event in line with the selection and task schedules of each competition. This includes resource consulting, providing GPUs and AI APIs, setting up and operating development environments, and technical support.
MegazoneCloud Vice President Min-taek Seo (서민택) said the company has built capabilities in designing GPU usage environments by team, providing computing resources, stabilising operations and providing technical support, based on its experience carrying out various government projects including large-scale AI competitions and GPU support programmes. He said the company will support participating teams so they can implement ideas and expand technical capabilities in a stable infrastructure environment, contributing to government-led AI talent development and efforts to energise the domestic AI ecosystem.
