Viva Republica, the operator of Toss, is expanding offline payment touchpoints into repeat-visit daily services such as auto maintenance, accelerating the rollout of Face Pay.

Toss said on May 28 it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Hyundai Maintenance Franchise Cooperative Federation and will push to introduce Face Pay at Hyundai specialist Bluehands shops nationwide.

The agreement is aimed at shifting the payment environment at auto maintenance shops toward digital systems and expanding face-recognition payment experiences. The two sides plan to install Toss payment terminals, called Toss Front, at Hyundai specialist Bluehands shops nationwide and gradually expand the application of Face Pay.

The partners will also pursue joint marketing. Toss will support benefits such as Toss Points accrual for Face Pay users and in-app store exposure, while Hyundai specialist Bluehands shops will roll out Face Pay promotional content in phases.

An official at the Hyundai Maintenance Franchise Cooperative Federation said the customer experience for vehicle maintenance is also shifting toward digital systems. The official said the federation plans to continue cooperation to improve customer convenience and boost operational efficiency for franchisees.

A Toss official said it will offer a seamless payment experience even in close-to-daily spaces with frequent repeat visits, such as auto maintenance. The official said Toss plans to expand the rollout to various offline brands and daily service sectors.
