Nathan Allman (네이선 올먼), founder and CEO of Ondo Finance, a company that offers tokenised stocks, has died suddenly at age 32.
Ondo Finance said on May 26 local time on social media platform X (Twitter), "We share with deep sadness the news that Ondo founder Nathan Allman has passed away unexpectedly." It did not disclose the cause of death.
Following Allman's death, President Ian De Bode will serve as CEO.
Allman founded Ondo in 2021 after overseeing digital asset services for institutional investors at Goldman Sachs. He grew up in Hawaii and graduated from Brown University. Before joining Goldman, he founded a cryptocurrency hedge fund.
Ondo Finance raised $20 million in a Series A round in 2022 led by Founders Fund and Pantera Capital.
It offers tokenised versions of shares such as Tesla and Apple. It also issues USDY, a yield-bearing dollar token, and USDY has a market capitalisation of $2 billion.
