SOOP will exclusively livestream all qualifying matches of the Futures Champ tournament, an off-season volleyball competition, expanding its sports broadcasting scope.
SOOP said on Wednesday it will exclusively stream every qualifying match of the "2026 Korea Amateur Volleyball Federation and Pro Volleyball Futures Champ Danyang Tournament" to be held in Danyang, North Chungcheong province, from June 7 to 16.
The tournament is an off-season event featuring amateur and professional volleyball players. SOOP plans to broaden coverage that previously focused on the semifinals and finals to include all qualifying matches, providing wider distribution of games featuring promising players. It also plans to build a volleyball viewing environment during the off-season following its recent acquisition of the women’s professional volleyball team AI Peppers.
V-League-level broadcasting equipment and production systems will be applied to women’s matches in particular. SOOP plans to offer on-site-focused production through a multi-angle camera setup.
Commentators will include volleyball figures such as Shin Jin-sik, Jang Yoon-hee and Lee Se-ho. Active players and coaches will also join the commentary to provide analysis from various perspectives. SOOP aims to advance a community-style broadcasting environment by covering the Danyang tournament following a volleyball tournament previously held in Hongcheon.
Yoo Joon-seok (유준석), head of SOOP’s sports business division, said interest and expectations among volleyball fans have risen further since it recently confirmed the team acquisition. "We will create an environment in which amateur and professional volleyball can receive attention together, and we will also contribute to revitalising the volleyball ecosystem," he said.
