Haansoft, which is transforming into an AI company, has put forward “sovereign agentic OS” as a keyword symbolising its strategy.

Hancom held a morning press briefing on Monday and said it aims to go beyond being an AI technology company. It said it seeks to become a global agentic OS company that guarantees strong data sovereignty while overseeing and controlling the operation of AI agents.

Hancom will change its corporate name to Hancom as it prepares to shift into a sovereign agentic OS company. It will also end sales of its existing year-based package after Hancom Office 2024, and will provide Hancom Office in a platform form in which advanced AI features are reflected in real time.

Yeon-su Kim (김연수), CEO of Hancom, said, “Today is not a simple earnings announcement or a new product introduction, but a place to declare Hancom’s new identity.” He said, “Hancom has already proven its AI business performance with numbers, and on that basis it challenges a higher vision called sovereign agentic OS.”

According to the company, a sovereign agentic OS is an integrated AI agent operating system that connects and controls internal organisational data, external AI models, existing work systems and permission structures in a single secure environment.

Citing global market research firm MarketsandMarkets, Hancom said the global agentic AI market is expected to grow more than 13-fold to $93.2 billion in 2032 from $7.0 billion in 2025. Based on that, it estimated the size of the global total addressable market for sovereign agentic OS in 2030 at about $7.0 billion to $10.0 billion.

Hancom is not the only company to promote an AI agentic OS. Major companies have already entered the market. Hancom said it has its own points of differentiation. It emphasised that four factors will serve as moats: source data technology, AX clinical data, 200,000 customer assets, and open AX standards.

Hancom will also accelerate efforts to target global markets with sovereign agentic OS. It set Europe as its first target market. At the briefing, Hancom said it is close to signing memorandums of understanding with three local partners in Europe.

Kim said the name Haansoft was a “great starting point” that created a standard for Korean-language document processing, but the areas Hancom handles have expanded beyond documents to data, beyond computers to AI agents, beyond Korea to global. He said, “As a sovereign agentic OS company that integrates and provides data sovereignty and an AI execution environment, we will vigorously open Hancom’s new 36 years.”
