AI-based data security company Cohesity said on May 18 it will expand support in the AWS Seoul Region for its cloud cyber vault solution, "Cohesity FortKnox," to DataProtect after NetBackup.
Cohesity FortKnox protects core data from ransomware and insider threats by isolating backup data in a separate cyber vault that is separated from the production environment. It supports rapid and secure recovery based on verified data after an attack occurs.
Cohesity plans, through its participation in AWS Summit Seoul 2026, to present ways for Korean companies to strengthen cyber resilience in cloud environments and upgrade capabilities for data protection, recovery and compliance.
Cohesity signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with AWS in late 2025 and has expanded cooperation to strengthen large-scale data protection, rapid operational recovery and AI-based data utilisation capabilities based on AWS' global infrastructure.
The two companies have presented key areas of cooperation including building immutable cyber vaults on AWS, isolating data based on private networks and expanding generative AI-based data utilisation.
Sang-hoon Lee (이상훈), head of Cohesity Korea, said that in the AI era it is not only important to protect data safely, but also how quickly and reliably it can be recovered after an attack has become a key factor determining corporate competitiveness. FortKnox used in AWS environments will help domestic customers build a global-level cyber vault without additional infrastructure investment and respond more effectively to cyber threats such as ransomware, he said.
