Hana Financial Group is expanding an internship programme linking social innovation companies with people vulnerable in the job market as it moves to create shared-growth jobs.

Hana said on May 18 it held a launch event on May 15 at its Myeongdong office building in Jung-gu, Seoul, for the 2026 Hana Power On Innovation Company Internship.

The programme aims to expand job opportunities for vulnerable groups by matching social innovation companies with job seekers. Hana has run the internship programme since 2022 and matched a total of 935 social innovation companies with 935 job seekers through last year.

Last year, 170 of 230 participants moved into full-time jobs, a conversion rate of 73.9 percent. About 1,900 people applied for this year's programme, Hana said.

Support is also being expanded this year. Hana will support 250 social innovation companies with monthly pay of about 2.3 million won for three months and provide an additional two months of pay if interns are converted to full-time jobs.

Eligible participants have also been broadened to include marriage migrant women, from a previous focus on people with disabilities, women with career experience, people in their 50s and 60s, and young people.

Support programmes for interns will also be strengthened. In addition to pay, participants will receive growth support funds that can be used for AI tool subscriptions, certification acquisition and health management, as well as support for self-development and children's education costs.

Hana will also provide monthly training to strengthen common capabilities, as well as AI utilisation training, to help participants adapt to work. Participating companies will receive AI utilisation trends, labour-management lectures and training to strengthen organisational capabilities.

Hana Financial Chairman Young-joo Ham (함영주) said it was meaningful because it offers job seekers a chance to prove their value and gives innovation companies an opportunity to advance with talent. He said Hana would support sustainable growth and development for members of society by connecting diverse opportunities.
