KT Millie’s Library has achieved profitability for 16 straight quarters, helped by expanding content such as webtoons and web novels.

Reading platform Millie’s Library posted first-quarter revenue of 23.9 billion won and operating profit of 3.9 billion won, it said on May 14. Revenue rose 19.6 percent and operating profit increased 4.9 percent from a year earlier. It has remained profitable for 16 straight quarters through the first quarter of this year after turning to an operating profit in the second quarter of 2022.

The results are seen as the outcome of widening its range of content from e-books to webtoons and web novels, bringing in new subscribers and retaining existing ones.

Millie’s Library offers titles ranging from steady sellers such as Minumsa World Literature Series to bestsellers and new releases. It has recently expanded into intellectual property by introducing original webtoons and web novels.

Millie’s Library plans to continue securing major content such as steady sellers while expanding into webtoons, web novels and original IP. It aims to move beyond a reading platform to become a content IP platform.

It also plans to strengthen its service capabilities based on artificial intelligence transformation, or AX, to enhance user experience and improve service operation efficiency.
