Baemin delivered lunchboxes to vulnerable households with children together with its merchant partners. Operator Woowa Brothers said on May 13 it made and delivered lunchboxes to 150 such households in Seoul’s Songpa district on May 12 with partners from its merchant partner community Baemin Friends. The volunteer activity was held for Family Month in May.
The “Love Lunchbox” volunteer activity was carried out in cooperation with the World Vision Songpa Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. About 40 Woowa Brothers employees and Baemin Friends partners made lunchboxes at the Baemin Academy Seoul Center. The lunchboxes included 5 side dishes that children prefer, such as braised quail eggs and stir-fried sausage with vegetables. They also packaged and delivered message cards designed by Baemin Friends partners.
Baemin continues regular community volunteer work with its merchant partners, including delivering lunchboxes and kimchi for kimjang. Baemin Friends partner Kyungwon Choi (최경원) said, "I am happy to be able to deliver lunchboxes made with care to bright children, and I will practice more sharing in the future." Partner Jiseon Lee (이지선) said she hoped the lunchboxes and message cards prepared with care would be a great help to the children.
Yonggyu Kwon (권용규), head of Woowa Brothers’ Baemin Academy Office, said, "It was a meaningful time to be able to practice sharing in the community together with our merchant partners," adding, "We will continue various activities that can create a sustainable foodservice industry ecosystem and practice sharing with the community."
