South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission will recruit its third pool of pseudonymised data experts from May 11 to May 29.

The pool was introduced in 2021 to support greater data use by reducing the excessive time and cost for organisations seeking professionals with capabilities in processing and using pseudonymised data, after a special provision on pseudonymised data was added to the Personal Information Protection Act in August 2020.

The commission plans to recruit the third pool by strengthening selection criteria and verification procedures, focusing on experts' actual track records and experience, compared with the standards used for the first and second pools. It will recruit a total of 100 people.

After the application deadline, the commission plans to finalise the third pool through a strict document screening process to verify qualification requirements for pseudonymised data experts. Selected experts will be appointed in July and are expected to work for 2 years across the country where pseudonymised data use is needed.
