[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee] Viva Republica, the operator of Toss, has launched an integrated service that supports everything from applications to checking where the benefit can be used, ahead of the government’s second round of applications for its “high oil price relief fund”.
On May 11, Toss said users can access pre-application, formal application and merchant lookups in one place in the Toss app. Formal applications run from May 18 to July 3.
The support fund was 마련됐 to ease the burden on ordinary people from high oil prices and inflation, and about 70 percent of the population is eligible for benefits.
Users can pre-apply by searching for “high oil price relief fund” in the Toss app search bar. They can verify eligibility after a simple identity check, and the exact amount will be confirmed after the government screens income.
The applied support fund is automatically charged to the user’s card the next day, and the result is provided by text message.
Toss also provides a merchant map service. Users can check eligible merchants based on location, including traditional markets, restaurants, cafes, pharmacies and gas stations. The support fund can be used within the local government jurisdiction of the applicant’s registered address until Aug. 31.
A Toss official said, “We connected the application and usage steps into one so users can access policy benefits easily and quickly.” The official added, “We will do our best to operate the service stably so that practical, everyday administrative information can be translated into real convenience.”
