Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Jin Ok-dong (진옥동) is moving to expand communication with North American institutional investors.

Shinhan Financial Group said on May 10 that Jin will visit the United States, Mexico and Canada from May 10 to May 22 to hold investor relations briefings for overseas institutional investors.

The investor relations sessions are designed to explain the group’s mid- to long-term strategy to enhance corporate value and its direction for shareholder returns, based on 'Shinhan Value Up 2.0' announced last month.

Jin plans to focus on measures to enhance corporate value, including a shareholder return framework linked to ROE and growth, a capital policy that strengthens predictability and sustainability, and a strategy to diversify earnings based on its global business platform.

He also plans to share the impact of recent volatility in global financial markets stemming from the prolonged U.S.-Iran war and the group’s response direction.

Jin will meet major global asset managers and pension fund investors to explain the stability and fundamentals of South Korea’s financial market. He will also visit local subsidiaries and branches to review the status of global business operations and growth strategies by region.

Jin said, "I will thoroughly explain to global investors a sustainable framework in which the group’s growth and shareholder returns expand together, and will continue to push for corporate value enhancement based on market trust."
