Pompidou Center Hanwha has launched its official website and started selling tickets ahead of its opening in June. The opening is scheduled for June 4, and it will open at the 63 Building in Seoul's Yeouido.
The opening exhibition is titled "Cubists: Innovators of Vision" and will run from June 4 to Oct. 4. It is an exhibition that looks at the development of Cubism, centered on works from the Pompidou Center collection. Reflecting the symbolism of being the museum's first exhibition, it will be a large-scale single exhibition integrating all spaces, including lobby sculpture works and Exhibition Halls 1 and 2. Tickets cost 28,000 won for adults.
Timed advance reservations are available from Thursday. On-site purchases will be available after the opening. Reservations for June visits will open first, and subsequent schedules will be released in stages on the 15th of each month for the following month.
Discounted rates also apply. Tickets cost 16,800 won for children aged 4 to 12, and 19,600 won each for teenagers aged 13 to 18 and seniors aged 65 or older. Group visits receive an additional 20 percent discount from individual rates. Admission is free for infants under 48 months, Culture Nuri Card holders, people with disabilities and 1 companion, national merit recipients (the individual), and ICOM member card holders.
Recruitment of membership subscribers has also begun. Annual fees are 100,000 won for Solo, 150,000 won for Duo and 300,000 won for Family. All tiers include 1 year of free admission, invitations to exhibition previews, members-only viewing and opportunities to participate in performances and lectures at the museum. The Family tier also includes family workshops and curator tours.
A preview invitation event is also planned for early membership subscribers, allowing them to view the exhibition before the opening. The food and beverage and shopping space in the basement of the 63 Building's main building will reopen in line with the opening date after remodeling, and the 63 Building observatory will also reopen.
A Hanwha Culture Foundation official said, "Pompidou Center Hanwha will present a new museum model in which rest and experiences organically 이어지는 beyond exhibition viewing." The official added, "We hope visitors can experience the museum more closely even before the opening through the launch of the official website, tickets and memberships."
