SK Telecom is included again this year in the Dow Jones Best in Class (DJ BIC) World Index, a global sustainability index, gaining recognition for its sustainability management efforts.

DJ BIC is a sustainability assessment index that was renamed in September 2025 from the existing Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). It is published annually by S&P Global, the world’s largest financial information provider. SKT has now been included for a total of 17 years since it was first added in 2008.

SKT said its latest inclusion reflects a broad set of factors, including stronger board-led responsible management, more advanced supply-chain environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs, an upgraded climate governance framework and stronger industrial safety and health management.

The DJ BIC World Index in which SKT is included assesses about 2,500 of the world’s largest companies by market capitalisation. Only the top 10 percent of companies with the best sustainability management in each industry are selected for this highest-tier index. Only 7 telecom companies worldwide are included in the World Index. SKT is the only South Korean telecom company on the list.

Eom Jong-hwan (엄종환), head of SKT’s Sustainability Management Office, said the company plans to continuously develop its sustainability management to meet internal and external evaluations and expectations. He said it will take the lead in creating sustainable growth together with customers.
