Hancom Inspace, an AI data analysis company, said on May 4 it will provide Sejong series Earth observation imagery through global satellite data platforms such as SkyFi starting in the third quarter of this year.

SkyFi is a global marketplace where users can search for and buy satellite imagery and geospatial data. Hancom Inspace said it has secured a distribution channel through SkyFi to supply satellite data not only in South Korea but also to customers worldwide.

Through this, Hancom Inspace plans to expand its satellite data business into global markets, including South Korea, and accelerate efforts to diversify its revenue structure based on data sales.

According to the company, Hancom Inspace will supply both multispectral imagery that identifies terrain and object information and hyperspectral data that can analyse material-specific components.

Hancom Inspace said it will provide integrated support for both types of data across its Archive service, which provides accumulated data, and its Tasking service for new, customer-specific imaging. It said it is focusing on targeting the high value-added data services market based on precision analysis, beyond simple image sales.

The company also stressed that hyperspectral data can analyse much more detailed wavelength information than general optical imagery, identifying information that is difficult to confirm with the naked eye, such as crop growth conditions, environmental pollution and resource distribution.

He said Hancom Inspace will continue to expand its business into a high value-added data business by supplying high-quality satellite imagery to customers at home and abroad while combining AI-based image analysis services to support customer decision-making.
