Shinsegae Group said on Tuesday it has begun procedures to reorganise its Management Strategy Office, the group’s control tower, to identify future growth engines.
Ahead of a full overhaul, Shinsegae Group ended Im Young-rok (임영록)’s dual role as head of the Management Strategy Office and chief executive of Shinsegae Property. Im will focus on large projects such as Starfield Cheongna and Hwaseong Starbay City as chief executive of Shinsegae Property.
The Management Strategy Office plans to fully carry out its functions and role as the group’s control tower around Chairman Chung Yong-jin until a new head is appointed.
A Shinsegae Group official said, “We are carrying out this reshuffle to execute innovation faster and more accurately in a rapidly changing market environment.” The official added, “By transforming the Management Strategy Office into an organisation that drives bold challenges internally and presents a vision to lead the domestic distribution market externally, we aim to deliver greater customer satisfaction.”
