Nexthrus said on Thursday it has signed a partnership with payment services company Worldpay through its Dubai-based entity, Nexthrus Hub FZCO, to expand global payments infrastructure for its game-focused web store, Cross Shop.
Under the partnership, global users will be able to buy game items using their local currencies and digital assets.
Worldpay is a payments company that processes more than 50 billion transactions a year and provides services in more than 146 countries. It supports companies worldwide in accepting payments and is recognised for trust and standardisation in payments infrastructure.
Cross Shop is a web-based store where game developers sell products without going through application marketplaces. It supports 0 percent fee payments via the stablecoin-based Cross Pay infrastructure, allowing developers to secure revenue without bearing application marketplace fees. The partnership will expand the existing approach by additionally applying Worldpay electronic payment methods.
Nexthrus has also introduced Base's x402 protocol to its AI agent game platform, MultiRoyal, to build a foundation for agents to act as economic entities.
Nexthrus CEO Hyun-kuk Jang (장현국) said, "The AI and blockchain-based platform Cross now supports both Web2 and Web3 through its partnership with Worldpay, and has come to cover Web4 as well with the x402 protocol." He added, "We will continue completing a payments infrastructure that provides profitability to developers and a convenient payment experience to users."
