RedLab Games said on Wednesday it will switch the massively multiplayer online role-playing game ROM, which it services with KakaoGames, to a self-publishing model on May 28.
RedLab Games announced the service transfer on its official website on Wednesday. The service operator will change to RedLab Games after the two companies' publishing contract expires. The transfer procedure will take place on May 28.
Users will be able to play while keeping existing game data after completing the transfer procedure. RedLab Games has been responsible for development, business and operations under the existing contract, and it will continue to provide the service in-house after the transfer. It plans to continue cooperation with KakaoGames, its strategic investor.
RedLab Games will run events and marketing tied to the move to self-publishing. It said through the official community's PD Briefing on Tuesday that it will hold an event on April 30 to mark 800 days since the game's global official launch. It will begin pre-registrations for Episode5: Dark Realm as the service transfer starts.
Episode5: Dark Realm is a new episode centered on a dark realm and is scheduled to be released in June. After that, it plans to introduce the Crossworld siege battle "Overlord Battle" and Episode6: World Guild Tournament.
