The National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) said on April 15 it will 추진 the "2026 Software Project Ordering Technical Support" programme to strengthen expertise in ordering public software and artificial intelligence projects for the Ministry of Science and ICT.

To that end, NIPA on April 14 signed a memorandum of understanding with the Office for Government Policy Coordination on procurement technical support to accelerate AI transition. NIPA said the agreement has symbolic and practical significance because it implements an execution-focused cooperation system linking policy, technology and projects in cooperation with the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the control tower for state affairs.

The two organisations will move ahead with cooperation across the public sector's adoption of AI, including identifying AI introduction tasks and setting roadmaps, providing procurement technical support and tailored consulting for public AI projects, and strengthening capabilities and providing training support for AI and software officials.

Park Yun-kyu (박윤규), head of NIPA, said the agreement is a starting point for shifting public sector AI adoption to a systematic execution model. He said NIPA will create a new standard for public AI adoption through a cooperation system that organically connects policy, technology and projects.
