MoonPay, which provides fiat-to-cryptocurrency conversion and stablecoin infrastructure, is launching an AI-based cryptocurrency trading platform called MoonPay Agents, The Block reported on Monday local time.
It provides infrastructure that allows AI agents to directly trade and transfer cryptocurrencies.
MoonPay said MoonPay Agents is a developer-friendly, CLI (Command-Line Interface)-based non-custodial software tool. It said AI agents can autonomously trade, swap and transfer cryptocurrencies once users complete identity verification and wallet funding. Ivan Soto-Wright (이반 소토 라이트), MoonPay's CEO, said, "AI can make its own decisions, but it needs capital infrastructure for economic activity. MoonPay will be the bridge connecting AI and finance."
MoonPay said the platform will support AI systems in creating non-custodial wallets and executing on-chain transactions by raising funds via bank transfers or cryptocurrency. It said it also applied the x402 standard for recurring purchases, cross-chain swaps and payments between AI agents.
