Woori Bank said on Tuesday it developed a generative AI-based system called Deep Research that automatically generates reports using the bank’s internal data, as it moves to accelerate AX.
Deep Research is an intelligent report-writing support system that collects, links and analyses internal financial data in response to staff requests for industry and company analysis. It provides a draft report at an expert level in a short time.
Woori Bank also upgraded its AI work environment by combining Microsoft Copilot, a global general-purpose AI, with its in-house Deep Research. Copilot has strengths in analysing external information such as industry trends and news, while Deep Research generates optimised reports based on the bank’s internal financial data. By combining external insights with internal data, the bank secured both more refined analysis and stronger data security.
Woori Bank plans to further advance Deep Research and expand its application into AI agent-based services. It aims to broaden the use of AI across key banking tasks, including credit screening, wealth management and internal control, developing it into an intelligent AI assistant system that supports decision-making.
Ok Il-jin (옥일진), deputy head of Woori Bank's AX Innovation Group, said the development was meaningful in that it secured independent AI capabilities optimised for Woori Bank. He said the bank will continue to expand practical AI services so employees can focus on high value-added work.
