Panasonic Korea said on Thursday it has appointed Miyaji Kensuke (미야지 켄스케) as its new chief executive officer.
Miyaji is a specialist who, since joining Panasonic in 1999, has spent 27 years in charge of business strategy and global marketing at major Asian bases including the headquarters in Japan and locations in Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, China and South Korea. From January 2024, he led the overseas marketing centre at Panasonic's China unit and oversaw global market strategy. In January this year, he became vice president of Panasonic Korea and led its domestic business operations.
Panasonic Korea said the appointment will be used to speed up the expansion of its customer experience-focused premium home appliance lineup and the growth of its digital transformation-based B2B solutions business.
Miyaji said the global home appliance industry is entering a major period of change and the South Korean market is also changing rapidly. He said he will further enhance Panasonic's value, strengthen market competitiveness and continue sustainable growth together with South Korean society.
