Pearl Abyss said on Tuesday its open-world action adventure game "Crimson Desert" has sold 4 million copies on global platforms.

The company said on its official social media account at 11 a.m. on Tuesday that "Crimson Desert" had sold 4 million copies worldwide. It added that it was grateful to everyone who joined the journey.

"Crimson Desert" sold 2 million copies on its first day and reached 3 million in four days, before topping 4 million in 12 days. It maintains a "Very Positive" rating on global platform Steam, and English-language reviews account for more than half of all user ratings.

The 2025 Game White Paper said North America and Europe account for 74 percent of the global console market in 2024, worth about $53.712 billion, or 81 trillion won. By country, China accounts for 29.7 percent of South Korea's game exports, followed by Southeast Asia with 20.6 percent, North America with 19.5 percent and Japan with 8.3 percent.

"Crimson Desert" is set on the open-world continent of "Pywel" and follows the journey of protagonist "Kliff" and his Greymanes companions. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac and the Epic Games Store.
