LG CNS is expanding its Robot Transformation (RX) business by creating a dedicated organisation to support companies in planning and executing robot adoption strategies.

LG CNS said on Tuesday it has established the RX Innovation Lab to provide customer-tailored consulting on robot adoption.

The RX Innovation Lab supports the entire RX adoption process, from developing robot use plans suited to a company’s work environment and purpose to reviewing productivity through workflow redesign and proof-of-concept (PoC) testing.

LG CNS said it offers a three-stage programme through the RX Innovation Lab to help customers establish optimal robot transformation plans. In the Insight stage, it analyses a customer’s industry characteristics, site environment and work processes to identify areas for robot adoption. In the Design stage, it selects the most suitable robot solutions, such as autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and humanoids, and redesigns workflows by reflecting role sharing between people and robots as well as safety and quality standards. In the Proof stage, it trains robots on worker behaviour data and systematically reviews field applicability, productivity, safety and operational efficiency through robot system implementation and PoC testing.

LG CNS pursues RX by redesigning workflows across operations rather than simply automating individual processes. For a logistics company, for example, it analyses the full process from inbound receipt and storage to sorting, picking, packing and shipping. It then identifies segments where robots are likely to be most effective and designs optimal process sequences and task allocation by turning movement paths, handling times and human-robot collaboration sections into data.

LG CNS said the new organisation completes its support framework for helping corporate customers innovate across DX, AX and RX.

LG CNS CEO Shin-kyun Hyun (현신균) said the key to robot transformation is to redesign and innovate productivity from the perspective of end-to-end work processes, beyond simple automation. He said LG CNS will build RX models optimised for industrial sites based on its physical AI capabilities to contribute to improving customer productivity and accelerating growth.
