[DigitalToday reporter Ji-young Lee] Hana Bank's Hana Narasarang Card is gaining word of mouth among would-be recruits and active-duty soldiers for its services and benefits.
Hana Bank said on Jan. 5 that the Hana Narasarang Card provides key benefits, including discounts at military stores (PX), online shopping and convenience store chain CU, with no performance conditions. It also applies a low prior-month spending requirement to major benefits such as public transport and fast food discounts, using a structure designed to minimise the burden on users.
A key feature is that the card's main benefits are designed as universal benefits that all soldiers can enjoy.
Hana Bank's Hana Narasarang Card applies larger discounts to overlapping services by provider, increasing differentiation in benefits. Discounts for delivery apps, taxis, online shopping and coffee apply the highest maximum discount rate among providers, up to 20 percent, and OTT services can also receive discounts of up to 6,000 won per month.
It was designed as a practical, tailored structure that closely reflects soldiers' actual spending patterns and living environment, enabling them to receive diverse and wide-ranging benefits both inside and outside barracks. It also applies key payment discounts for public transport, restaurants, online shopping and convenience stores after discharge and in social life under minimised conditions that are the same as during military service.
In addition to lifestyle-focused payment benefits, it also provides top-level benefits in financial services.
If salary received during military service is paid into a Hana Bank demand deposit account, it provides an annual interest rate of 2.0 percent with no cap on the amount and no limit. It also supports soldiers so they can receive an interest rate of up to 10.2 percent a year on Hana Jangbyeong Naeil Junbi Jeokgeum, an instalment savings product for members of the armed forces, helping them build financial assets for the future.
It also provides active-duty soldiers with personal accident insurance, up to 860 million won, covering cases such as accidental death and disability, and a mobile phone damage insurance service to prepare for possible accidents during military service, serving as a reliable financial partner for soldiers on duty.
A Hana Bank official in charge of the Narasarang business said the bank put incomparable benefits and services into the Hana Narasarang Card after comprehensively considering soldiers' living environment and spending patterns. The official said it aims to become the Narasarang Card most often chosen across life's journey, from before enlistment through social life after discharge, by offering simple and intuitive usage criteria and diverse, tangible benefits.
