Shinhan Financial Group said on Monday it invited South Korea’s ski and snowboard medalists, who delivered the country’s best-ever result at the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics, to Shinhan Card’s headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of March 27 for a celebration and encouragement event.

Attendees included Ga-on Choi (최가온), who won South Korea’s first-ever gold medal in a snow event in women’s snowboard halfpipe, Sang-gyeom Kim (김상겸), who took silver in men’s snowboard parallel giant slalom, and Seung-eun Yoo (유승은), who won bronze in women’s snowboard big air.

Shinhan Financial delivered prize money to mark the Olympic results, and the athletes expressed gratitude for the continued support.

Shinhan Financial also decided to extend its sponsorship of the Korea Ski and Snowboard Association, which began in 2015, through 2030. From this year, Shinhan Card plans to join sponsorship of the national team to strengthen group-level support.

The results came as Shinhan Financial continued its sponsorship of snow events. Choi has received support from the Shinhan Rookie Sponsorship since 2023.

Ok-dong Jin (진옥동), chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, said he was proud of the athletes who overcame demanding training and injuries to make new history for South Korea’s snow sports. He said the group would continue to actively support efforts to strengthen South Korea’s sports competitiveness through systematic support, from identifying promising athletes to delivering results on the world stage.
