Samsung Electronics said on March 30 it has launched the "Infinite AI Wine Refrigerator," which uses AI to manage wine intake and release, storage and consumption. It is the first model to apply the camera-based "AI Wine Manager" function mounted on the top of the product. Samsung Electronics' Infinite line is an ultra-premium home appliance lineup, and the price is 6,499,000 won.
Key features include a generative AI-based "AI Vision" camera. When the door opens, the camera detects wine bottles being put in or taken out, analyses the location and labels of stored wine, and automatically records information such as name, grape variety and vintage in the SmartThings app's "AI Wine Manager." It also recognises changes in storage location or when wine is taken out and updates the list in real time. Users can check inventory status and storage locations in the app and receive recommended food recipes to pair with the wine, the company said.
The storage space holds up to 101 bottles of wine. The interior is made up of three sections, top, middle and bottom, in a "triple cooling zone," allowing separate temperature settings for each zone from a low of 3 degrees Celsius to a high of 18 degrees Celsius. The centre features a "multi pantry" that can adjust temperature in 5 modes for wine, ham and sausage, nuts, cheese and fruit. The front door uses triple-layer glass that blocks UV rays, cutting ultraviolet light by 92 percent.
The design follows specifications common to the Infinite line. It applies an edge frame to the door border and uses black metal materials and tunnel lighting inside. It also includes a natural wood wine rack. The company explained that the metal material helps preserve cold air and keep the internal temperature even.
Moon Jong-seung (문종승), a vice president at Samsung Electronics' DA Business Division, said, "This new product has newly added the 'AI Vision' function, greatly improving convenience from buying wine to managing it." He said, "We will continue to introduce premium home appliances that innovate users' lifestyles based on advanced AI technology."
