Airbase, a startup that uses AI for radio frequency (RF) spectrum management, has officially launched after emerging from stealth mode, Axios reported on March 25.

Airbase raised $5 million from Founders You Should Know, Squadra Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz.

New York-based Airbase aims to modernise wireless infrastructure and spectrum management.

Airbase has already won a U.S. federal government contract related to automating spectrum coordination. Ari Rosner (아리 로스너), the chief executive officer, said it is also negotiating its first contract with the Department of Defense. "From the beginning we built the dual-use structure into the design, developing commercial and government spectrum at the same time," Rosner said. "That is because the underlying physical laws and coordination issues are similar."

Airbase developed its own AI pipeline that integrates decades of fragmented, unstructured records into a single real-time data layer. "That was the missing link," Rosner said. "Until recently, there was no technology to implement it reliably."
