Netflix will raise all subscription prices, Engadget reported on March 26.
Under the change, the ad-supported Standard plan will rise to $9 a month from $8, while the ad-free version will increase to $20 from $18. The Premium plan will go up to $27 from $25 and includes 4K streaming, spatial audio support and the ability to watch on 4 devices at the same time. Extra member fees are $8 for ad-supported plans and $10 for ad-free plans.
Netflix described the price adjustment as a move to improve service quality and said it would be applied to existing members in phases. The company stressed that a price increase was inevitable to expand new content such as sports, reality TV and video podcasts.
