OpenAI has adjusted its computing cost target through 2030 to $600 billion. Last year, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (샘 알트먼) mentioned $1.4 trillion of infrastructure spending, but the strategy appears to have been revised as investor burden and concerns about profitability grew, CNBC reported on Thursday.

OpenAI said it is targeting $280 billion in revenue in 2030 and that the consumer and enterprise business segments will account for similar shares.

It appears to have adjusted computing costs in line with revenue growth. Last year, OpenAI pursued an aggressive expansion strategy, signing infrastructure deals worth hundreds of billions of dollars with chipmakers and cloud companies.

OpenAI is currently conducting a $100 billion investment round, and Nvidia is expected to invest $30 billion. SoftBank and Amazon will also participate as strategic investors. OpenAI posted revenue of $13.1 billion in 2025, exceeding its target. Annual spending was expected to be $8 billion, lower than anticipated, CNBC said.
