Shinhan Bank said on Feb. 20 it will reopen from Feb. 27 its running challenge programme 'Shinhan 20+ Run', which combines running and finance.

'Shinhan 20+ Run' is a running challenge service that any customer aged 18 or older can join on the Shinhan SOL Bank app. Users who run at least 1 km a day receive 'running cash' based on their records, a feature that links everyday exercise to financial benefits. The service topped 300,000 subscribers within a month of its launch last year.

The renewal focuses on strengthening the running experience and benefits based on customer feedback. In addition to linking with Samsung Health and Apple Fitness, it now allows users to connect running data from the Garmin Connect and Nike Run Club apps, which many runners use. Based on this, it provides personalised running tendencies and detailed running reports. It also added a feature that allows users to build rewards by completing running missions and financial missions.

Shinhan Bank plans to roll out additional service updates in March. It plans to open a dedicated page where users can exchange or enter with accumulated rewards for prizes, and it also plans to introduce a running crew community feature to enhance the running experience.

To mark the renewal, it will also hold an event. Among first-time users of 'Shinhan 20+ Run', it will select 3,360 winners by lottery to provide 10 Garmin smartwatches, 50 Shinsegae gift certificates worth 200,000 won, 300 Olive Young gift cards worth 30,000 won and 3,000 11st discount coupons worth 5,000 won. It will offer all participating customers a benefit to accumulate running cash at double the usual rate, and it will provide up to 600 My Shinhan Points to customers who applied for pre-renewal notifications.
