[DigitalToday reporter Hojeong Lee] Com2uS is moving to secure growth drivers for its baseball games. It plans to continue aggressive growth this year, led by content linked to the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in March and a major update marking the 10th anniversary of MLB 9 Innings.
According to the industry on Thursday, Com2uS said on a results conference call on Feb. 12 that cumulative sales of its baseball games surpassed 1 trillion won as of January this year. The company entered a full-fledged growth track starting with the 2015 release of the 3D version of "Com2uS Pro Baseball".
Last year's baseball game performance showed clear differences by licence. KBO-licensed games grew 33.4 percent from a year earlier, while MLB-licensed games grew 5 percent.
Among the KBO games, "Com2uS Pro Baseball V" (ComProBaseball V) stood out. The game posted an average revenue growth rate of more than 100 percent over the past 3 years. In the fourth quarter last year, it recorded revenue and traffic at the highest levels ever, leading baseball games overall to a record for quarterly revenue.
Monthly active users (MAU) also rose sharply. Baseball game MAU in 2025 peaked at 2.6 million, up more than sixfold from 2015.
Juhwan Lee (이주환), head of the Com2uS SB division, said on the call that ComProBaseball V received positive responses from users for national team content including the K-Baseball series and Golden Glove cards. He said the company plans to sustain growth by increasing touchpoints with real-world baseball.
Com2uS has prepared a multi-pronged strategy to accelerate baseball game growth in 2026 as well. The core is using the WBC, introducing offline tournaments and large-scale updates for long-running live games.
First, it aims for a rise in traffic starting a month earlier than usual, using the WBC in March. Lee said that in the past the company ran events during the WBC, but this time it plans to actively roll out WBC-based content and events, especially in ComProBaseball V, based on an official licence.
ComProBaseball V will hold its first offline tournament through "ComProBaseball V Festa" on Feb. 28. Lee said he expects the newly attempted offline tournament could become a growth engine going forward, just as Summoners War has maintained the game's longevity and growth through the Summoners War World Championship (SWC). The company is also exploring the possibility of developing it into a regular tournament in the future.
"MLB 9 Innings" is preparing a major update at a remaster level to mark its 10th anniversary this year. Lee said the company is preparing graphical upgrades and game system upgrades. He said it expects to raise user satisfaction significantly through an anniversary upgrade and expects revenue and indicators to rise as a result.
Ahead of the 2026 season, Com2uS updated the numbering for 3 baseball games and began pre-registration on Feb. 12. "Com2uS Pro Baseball 2026" selected Hanwha Eagles' Dong-ju Moon for a third straight year as its official model, while "Com2uS Pro Baseball V26" appointed Ja-wook Koo of the Samsung Lions and Do-young Kim of the KIA Tigers as models.
Jiwoong Hong (홍지웅), production head leading Com2uS' baseball game development, said the company has built a structure in which its baseball games grow steadily based on development and operations know-how from decades of "ComProBaseball" and the expansion of its global lineup. He said it will further improve the game's completeness and strengthen service competitiveness so baseball fans can enjoy a more fun game experience.
