Cloud data platform Snowflake on March 18 announced Project SnowWork, which uses AI agents to automate enterprise work.

The company said Project SnowWork is focused on supporting the planning and execution of multi-step workflows based on corporate data, moving beyond simple data queries.

Bala Kasiviswanathan (발라 카시비스와나단), Snowflake's vice president of developer and AI experience, said: "SnowWork is most powerful when data governance, defined workflows and an understanding of business operations come together." He said: "The key is accelerating decision-making beyond simple task automation."

SnowWork uses corporate data stored on the Snowflake platform to integrate metrics, definitions and access policies, handling dataset queries, result analysis, report generation and presentation preparation within a single interaction. It also follows corporate data governance and security rules.

Kasiviswanathan said: "Every task performed by AI agents automatically has role-based access control, data policies and audit logging applied." He added: "It can only work with data the user can see, and every step is traceable."

An official launch schedule for Project SnowWork has not yet been disclosed.
