Apple is reported to have notified foreign media that it will hold a special event titled “Special Apple Experience” in New York at 9 a.m. local time on March 4. The event is set to take place simultaneously in London and Shanghai as well as New York.
According to online outlet Gigazine, the event is expected to be relatively small, unlike Apple’s large online presentations held at Apple Park, and is seen as a venue where media can try new products in person. Holding events in major global hub cities rather than at its Cupertino headquarters is being analysed as a marketing move aimed at getting closer to core demand for the entry-level market worldwide.
The most-watched product is the entry-level “iPhone 17e.” The industry sees a strong possibility that it will use the same A19 chipset as the iPhone 17 and support MagSafe charging. Despite being an entry-level model, its performance is expected to narrow the gap with higher-end models. The price is expected to remain around $599, or about 800,000 won.
In the Mac lineup, there is talk of possible launches of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, as well as an M5-based MacBook Air. Some also interpret the yellow, green and blue 3D Apple logo included on the invitation as hinting at more color options for a new low-priced MacBook.
In iPads, updates are expected for a base model with an A18 chip and an iPad Air based on the M4 chip. It has also been suggested there may be no major changes beyond processor swaps.
There is also talk of possible announcements of a revamped Studio Display, Apple TV and HomePod mini. Some also forecast that a preview of a new Siri strengthened with artificial intelligence could be revealed.
The Apple event also overlaps with MWC Barcelona 2026, the world’s largest mobile trade show in Barcelona, Spain. The industry is focusing on the possibility that Apple is seeking to maximise attention through its own event in light of MWC-related issues.
Attention is focused on what products Apple will officially announce at the event and whether it will send signals of a reshuffle of its AI, Mac and iPad lineups.
