AI cloud service company Clion said on March 17 it completed registration of a patent (No. 10-2025-0022921) for a "RAG-based real-time interpreting server and system," the underlying technology for its in-person consultation AI interpreting solution, "LXHUB."
The newly acquired patent focuses on overcoming limitations of existing general AI interpreting devices that misidentify administrative and legal technical terms due to simple literal translation.
The technology combines generative AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to first determine the intent behind a complainant's utterance and reference domain databases at agencies such as administrative and immigration bodies in real time. It supports improving interpreting accuracy and reliability by automatically correcting misrecognized speech to fit the context.
The company said XHUB has already been deployed in administrative counseling operations at the Jeollanam-do Immigration and Foreign Residents Comprehensive Support Center and the Yeongam County Foreign Residents Support Center. It said it has also completed verification in a range of areas, including counseling for multicultural students and parents in elementary and secondary school settings under the Seoul Metropolitan Government, as well as interpreting for overseas buyer meetings for the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group (AICA).
Chief Executive Park Yoon-ji (박윤지) said, "With this patent acquisition, we have solved, through technology, critical communication errors that occur in public settings, and once again demonstrated differentiated technological capabilities that provide practical help to both foreign residents and public officials." Park added, "Based on our capabilities in cloud and generative AI technologies, we will lead the domain-specialized interpreting market and drive administrative innovation without barriers."
