Global e-commerce platform AliExpress joined YouTube’s Shopping affiliate programme as an official partner, it said on Monday.

The YouTube Shopping affiliate programme supports creators by letting them introduce partner products and generate additional revenue. Since its introduction in South Korea in June last year, YouTube has expanded its affiliates to include Coupang, Kurly, Today’s House and CJ OnStyle.

Under the partnership, South Korean creators can search for and select AliExpress products within YouTube Creator Studio and tag them directly in videos. Creators can link AliExpress’ wide range of global products to various content, including IT device reviews, budget interior item recommendations and unboxing of direct-purchase products, expanding opportunities to generate revenue.

Viewers can check tagged items in the video’s 'Products' section and reach an AliExpress product details page with one click to make a purchase. As content consumption increasingly leads to shopping, it is expected to improve access to overseas products and convenience by taking viewers straight to the purchase journey without a separate search.

A YouTube official said, "Through this partnership, we will offer a broader range of product choices and provide a more innovative and convenient YouTube Shopping experience for both creators and viewers through the continued adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology."
