Hanwha Investment Securities said on Feb. 19 it completed a strategic investment worth about 18 billion won in Kresus, a global Web3 specialist company.

Kresus is a Web3 infrastructure specialist with seedless recovery technology that removes the need for users to manage complex passwords themselves, and security technology based on MPC (multi-party computation).

Hanwha Investment Securities previously signed a memorandum of understanding with Kresus at Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2025 in December 2025. Through the investment, the two companies plan to move beyond a simple equity relationship and detail mid- to long-term technology cooperation.

They plan to use Kresus' seedless wallet security technology and tokenisation infrastructure to upgrade customer digital asset services and step up efforts to develop the RWA (real-world asset) market linked to existing financial products.

Jongmin Son (손종민), executive director of the Future Strategy Office at Hanwha Investment Securities, said Kresus' distinctive wallet security technology and RWA infrastructure will play a key role in upgrading Hanwha Investment Securities' digital assets. He said the company will continue to work with top-tier global technology companies to become a digital asset-focused securities firm.
