UK-based publisher Silver Lining Interactive and Dutch developer Square Glade Games on Feb. 18 released the first playable demo of open-world cozy survival exploration game "Outbound".
The demo is available on the Steam platform. It is designed to let players preview a camper van lifestyle alone or with friends.
Outbound is rapidly expanding its community after surpassing 1.1 million wishlists on Steam. A combination of gameplay built around crafting, exploration and freedom is seen as raising user expectations. A demo video has also been released via the IGN channel, building momentum ahead of the full launch.
The demo supports both single-player and multiplayer. The developers plan to actively reflect user feedback to refine systems and cooperative elements ahead of release. The full version of Outbound targets a 2026 second-quarter launch. It will be offered digitally on major platforms including PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S and the Epic Games Store. A package edition is also in preparation.
Square Glade Games is an indie studio whose previous title, "Above Snakes", recorded sales of more than 60,000 copies within six months of release. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Outbound has increased its presence by rising into the top 50 on Steam's most-wishlisted rankings.
