MGC Global, which operates Mega MGC Coffee, said on Feb. 13 it signed a memorandum of understanding with CJ ENM on social contribution through performance and cultural activities.

The signing ceremony, held on Feb. 12 at the CJ ENM Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, was attended by Kim Dae-young (김대영), chairman of MGC Global, and Yoon Sang-hyun (윤상현), CEO of CJ ENM, and other executives. The two sides agreed to work together to improve access to performance and cultural activities and provide cultural experiences to local communities and underprivileged groups to help narrow cultural gaps.

The companies plan to build a cooperation structure with a shared direction of creating social value by combining CJ ENM's content production capabilities with MGC Global's infrastructure.

The companies plan to hold a performance in May, tentatively titled 'M Countdown X Mega Concert', featuring invited K-pop artists.

Mega MGC Coffee will be responsible for promotional activities centered on customer touchpoints through about 4,200 stores nationwide and its official app. CJ ENM will oversee overall concert planning and operations based on its planning capabilities and production know-how accumulated in broadcast, music and performance content.

A Mega MGC Coffee official said, "Through the collaboration, we will continue to introduce various content development and social cultural activities."
