Crypto expert John Squire said investors who hold XRP to the end will face a moment when calculating their exact wealth becomes meaningless due to a surge in value, underscoring XRP's explosive potential.

The Crypto Basic, a blockchain outlet, reported on Dec. 31 (local time) that expectations are spreading within the XRP community that a long-term holding strategy will lead to wealth accumulation.

XRP currently trades around $1.85, but it is seen as possibly rising to $80 to $200 between 2035 and 2040. If XRP rises to $100, a holder of 1,000 XRP would have $100,000, while a holder of 10,000 XRP would hold assets worth more than $1 million.

Crypto price-forecast platform Changelly mentioned the possibility that XRP could rise to $150 to $200, and some experts predicted it could climb into four digits. But critics also say that would be somewhat unrealistic because it would require a price rise of several thousand percent and a market capitalisation of more than $60 trillion.

Although he did not cite a specific figure, Squire's remarks show strong conviction in XRP's fundamentals. That has reinforced a mood among holders to stick to a "long-term investment" stance and not be swayed by short-term volatility.

Institutional investment in XRP is also increasing. Recently, Franklin Templeton, Grayscale, Bitwise and Canary Capital launched spot XRP exchange-traded funds, leading to purchases of XRP worth $1.25 billion in a short period. Market analysts see ETF inflows, corporate fundraising and XRP's role in cross-border payments as adding to long-term supply pressure. As a result, they do not rule out the possibility that XRP could reach double-digit prices sooner than expected.

In the end, market attention is focused on whether a "supply shock" will materialise. That is because a sustained inflow of institutional money through ETFs combined with strong holding by retail investors could sharply reduce the circulating supply. The point when this supply-demand imbalance takes hold is expected to be a major turning point for a revaluation of XRP.
